About David Schermbrucker: David Schermbrucker is general counsel at the Halifax office of the Public Prosecution Service of Canada. He has been a prosecutor for 20 years, and was defence counsel in Toronto for 10 years before that. David regularly provides legal advice to police about search and seizure in the context of modern technology and digital privacy. He teaches a search warrant course twice a year to RCMP. He is also the proud co-author of Search and Seizure (Emond, 2021).
