Mindfulness Training Course

Do you find yourself struggling to turn your mind off? Are you not sleeping at night? Too many things going on in your head? Mindfulness training can help.

In our eight-week mindfulness course, students will learn:

  • sitting, standing & walking meditation practice
  • qi gong breathing practice
  • mindfulness theory & practical applications

The course is taught by Dr. John Lovas, retired Assistant Dean of Student Affairs in the Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Lovas and Professor Nancy Neish initiated and facilitated Dentistry's innovative mindfulness program from 2008 to 2018. Dr. Lovas has been facilitating the Law School’s mindfulness program since 2014, and the IWK Children’s Hospital’s mindfulness program since 2017.

There will be no class on October 10, Thanksgiving Day, or during the Nov 7-11 study break.

Sessions will take place on Mondays, 6:35-7:25 pm on the following days:

  • October 3
  • October 17
  • October 24
  • October 31
  • November 14
  • November 21
  • November 28
  • December 5
