Law Hour – #MeToo and the Ideal Victims: Can One Sexual Assault Law Work for Everyone?
In collaboration with the Criminal Justice Coalition, Dalhousie Law Hour will welcome Professor Janine Benedet from the Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. Her presentation entitled “#MeToo and the Ideal Victims: Can One Sexual Assault Law Work for Everyone?” will discuss how certain groups of women, including women with mental disabilities; girls within their own families; and women and girls exploited in the commercial sex trade, have been largely overlooked by the intense public focus on accountability for sexual assault following the #MeToo movement.
