PEGaSUS: Designed to support student survivors of adult sexual assault

Our program will be facilitated online during Dal's Winter 2021 semester and run for 6-weeks starting Wednesday, January 27 at 3:00pm ADT.

PEGaSUS is hosted by Crystal Ragush, Sexualized Violence Advisor & Amina Abawajy, Education Advisor

Sessions are facilitated as one hour discussion circles. Our time together in group will focus on helping each other understand the impacts we may experience as the result of assault, as well as how we may respond to those impacts. PEGaSUS believes strongly in bringing survivors of all genders together safely in community with others. We hope that participants will feel able to share areas that they have found challenging in their healing as well as identify and celebrate their strengths.

Schedule of session topics

Week 1: Effects of Sexual Assault
Week 2: Emotional Responses; Fear, Anger, Grief, Shame, Guilt and Self-Blame
Week 3: Managing Triggers, Flashbacks & Healthy Coping and Self-Care
Week 4: Boundaries, Self-Esteem, Body Image and Intimacy
Week 5: Empowerment, Resilience and Support Systems
Week 6: Practicing Collective Care

To register: HRES@dal.ca

PEGaSUS is open to all genders of students from Dalhousie and University of King's College.
