In 1989, at age 26, Canadian citizen Derek Twyman was sentenced to 160 years in a U.S. prison for a spate of non-violent burglaries in North Carolina. Join Twyman to hear his story about being released from prison in 2017 after serving nearly 30 years – and find out how some Schulich School of Law alumni, faculty, and students helped bring about his release.

Read the CBC story Long Time Gone about Twyman's journey. The Dal News story The Power of Pro Bono explains Schulich Law's involvement in Twyman's case.
