Aging & Continuing Care
At the School of Occupational Therapy we believe that older adults want to be full participants in society, and that health and social services should support occupational engagement. What are the occupational needs and strengths of older adults? How do older adults engage in and contribute to community life? How do the disciplines of occupational science and occupational therapy address challenges such as increasing prevalence of dementia and chronic illness, and increasing demands for continuing care? How can policies and services better support the occupational lives of older adults and their family caregivers? These are some of the questions that we strive to answer through our research.
