SON 2019 Scholarships, Recipients of the Nursing R&D Grants

  • Leah Carrier, Killam Predoctoral and NSGS Doctoral awards. IWK Ruby Blois award (Master’s), Canadian Federation of University Women Aboriginal Woman’s Award, and  the A. S. Mowat Prize
  • Keisha Jefferies, Killam Predoctoral award, Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship (Vanier-CGS), Research Nova Scotia: Scotia Scholars Doctoral Award
  • Rachel Ollivier, Killam Predoctoral award and TD Meloche Monnex Doctoral Award,
  • Jennifer Searle, Killam Predoctoral award
  • Ziwa Yu named Faculty of Health Masters Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Research

  • Brianna Richardson, Dissemination Grant.  Oral presentation at the Council of International Neonatal Nurses (COINN) 2019 Conference, New Zealand, May 2019. $1,500
  • Britney Benoit, Dissemination Grant.   Presentation at International Symposium on Pediatric Pain, Basel, Switzerland June 2019. $1,500
  • Megan Aston & Sheri Price. Operating Grant.  Mapping and understanding mothers’ social networks (MUMS). $5,000. July 1 2019 to June 30 2020.
  • Brianna Richardson, Graduate Student. Marsha Campbell-Yeo and Ruth Martin-Misener, Co-Supervisors. Operating Grant. Parental prevention of newborn pain: A pilot evaluation of an eHealth learning platform to determine acceptability, feasibility and utilization of parent-led pain management. $4,700.
