Postdoctoral Fellows at Dalhousie University enjoy a supportive, research-intensive environment to complete the final stages of their preparation for independent careers. They work alongside exceptional colleagues and teachers, developing their research, administrative, and leadership skills while making significant contributions to their disciplines and the Dalhousie community.
At Dalhousie, there are two categories of postdoctoral fellows.
Postdoctoral Fellow Employees are those who are employed by Dalhousie grant holders.
As of October 2014, Postdoctoral Fellow Employees are represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). The Collective Bargaining process has begun and updates will be posted regularly throughout the process at www.dal.ca/labour.
Postdoctoral Fellow Scholars are named recipients of transferable funding from external sources. This includes but is not limited to Killam Scholars, Banting Scholars, etc.
Postdoctoral Fellow Scholars and Employees are encouraged to join the Dalhousie Postdoctoral Society.
