Call for Nominations: Chair of the FGS Academic Appeals Committee
The FGS Academic Appeals Committee is a standing committee of FGS Faculty Council. According to the Terms of Reference [PDF - 222kb], the committee hears appeals from students regarding academic matters in accordance with procedures approved by the Faculty. It is comprised of a Chair, six elected faculty members, and two graduate student members.
The Chair is responsible for forming and coordinating ad hoc hearing panels, which hear student academic appeals from decisions of, or the refusal to make decisions by, the FGS regarding academic standards, or the application of FGS academic regulations.
The Chair also works with the FGS Administrator to communicate information with appellants, committee members and respondents in accordance with appeals procedures.
The Chair, who must have Regular Membership with the Faculty of Graduate Studies, will serve a three-year term, commencing July 1, 2019.
A short CV and the written consent of the person being nominated must accompany your nomination. Self-nominations are also accepted. Nominations will be considered and voted upon at the June FGS Faculty Council meeting.
Please send nominations to Alicia Kirk, FGS Office and HR Administrator. Electronic submissions via e-mail are preferred, but hard copy is also acceptable (314 Henry Hicks Building).
Nominations will close at 4:00pm on Friday, June 21, 2019.
