Graduate Funding Payment (GFP) Project Update
The GFP project will improve how the university pays graduate students who have been awarded scholarships and funding.
More than $24M in funding each year is processed through the current process (the Graduate Student Payroll Information Profile), which is highly manual and largely paper-based. Following analysis and consultation with graduate students and departments to understand where improvements could be made, a new electronic system is being developed that will improve service to students and provide easier access to information for students, staff and faculty.
Update and timeline
Development of the new electronic system has been underway for the past several months, with preliminary testing undertaken by the project team. The launch date for the new system will be June 2019. The timeline for the GFP project is illustrated below.

Keep up to date
Those who will need to be trained on the new system can expect to hear more details closer to the start of those training sessions in April and May. In the meantime, you can find out more about the overall process by visiting the Graduate Funding Payments project site. The project team will use this site to keep the Dalhousie community informed.
