Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, Dalhousie Arts Centre

New students will be welcomed into the professions of dentistry and dental hygiene. They will be presented with their white clinic coats and accept the ethical and professional responsibilities of the oral healthcare profession. A reception will follow in the Dalhousie Arts Centre.

50th Reunion Luncheon | 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Dentistry Building

Members of the DDH Class of 1972 will gather for a clinic tour and luncheon hosted by the director of the School of Dental Hygiene, Dr. Leigha Rock.

JD McLean Lecture | 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Guest speaker: Ms. Starr Cunningham

Ms. Starr Cunningham, President & CEO of the Mental Health Foundation of NS will talk about mental health, from identifying early warning signs to helping someone who is struggling. She will also cover the work of the Mental Health Foundation of NS and the need for supports within our communities.

This general-interest lecture is named after former dean, Dr. JD McLean, who firmly believed in the importance of broadening the education of oral health students.

Live@5 Reception | 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
The Cavity Student Lounge, Dentistry Building, Level 3

Alumni, students, faculty, and staff are invited to the Cavity for a Live@5 social gatherine after the JD McLean Lecture.

Continuing Education (CE) Day | 8:00 am to 3:30 pm | 6 CE Credit Hours

Join your colleagues for a day of in-person learning. CE Day will offer four interesting sessions on the topics of: pediatrics, endodontics, periodontics, and the lessons learned from COVID-19. Three of the speakers are recipients of this year’s Outstanding Alumni Awards.

* CE Credits: Participants wishing to collect CE credits for attending CE Day will be required to complete a post-event survey.

Open House - Clinic Tours | 10:00 am and 2:00 pm

Alumni, retirees, reunion groups, and the general community are invited to join us for a tour of our dental facilities. We have state-of-the-art dental clinics and labs, which are setting a new standard of excellence in oral health education in Canada. We would be proud to share these with you.

Dentistry Homecoming Dinner and presentation of Outstanding Alumni Awards | 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Join friends, alumni, faculty and staff from across Canada at our Homecoming Dinner and presentation of the Outstanding Alumni Awards. The OAAs are presented to dentistry and dental hygiene alumni who have made special and/or distinctive contributions to their communities, profession, society at large, or the Faculty of Dentistry.
