Position Overview
The Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) offers degrees tailored to match individual interests in a high-tech discipline at the forefront of innovation. Staff work with faculty members to help build a foundation for student success as students prepare, through academics and research, for a career in one of the world’s hottest growth industries. Reporting to the Lead, Engagement & Communications, the Partnerships and Engagement Officer leads business development and industry partnership relationship management initiatives for the Faculty of Computer Science, including Here We Code and the Industry Partnership Program. They also provide support with marketing, communications, strategy, and event coordination for the execution of these key initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the coordination and business development activities for FCS initiatives including Here We Code & the Industry Partnership Program.
  • Conduct market research to identify employers and high potential industry partnerships and develop a strategy to identify and create new external partnerships that align with the FCS missions and values.
  • In association with other team members, support stakeholder engagement by identifying and developing industry connections and partnerships around applied research including coordination with DeepSense and the Faculty’s Associate Dean Research.
  • Evaluate current partnership relationships and support development of new champion market audiences. Focusing on lead generation and searching for opportunities.
  • Develop reports and proposals for new initiatives and make recommendations based on research to proactively seek continuous improvement on opportunities and processes.
  • Work in partnership with the Engagement & Communications team, Shiftkey Labs, and academic leaders to deliver of events, activities and programs in support of external partnerships.

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Position Requirements & Qualifications
Undergraduate degree, plus three years’ relevant work experience preferably in a university environment (or an equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing, events strongly preferred. Excellent networking and relationship building skills are required, with the ability to evaluate and champion stakeholder management. Proficiency in clearly communicating strategy, both written and verbally, is essential to this role. Extremely well-organized; strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Strong implementation skills in the delivery of events, activities, and programs are required.
