WHMIS 2015

CCE-EHSO0010-006 WHMIS 2015

Every worker who works with, or in proximity to, a hazardous product in the workplace must have Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training. In February 2015, WHMIS was modified to align with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for classifying and labeling chemicals known as WHMIS 2015.

This online course will cover all the major elements of the WHMIS 2015 requirements giving the participant a strong general foundation to understand the risks associated with working with or around chemicals. The WHMIS 2015 course ensures that employees and employers are aware of the potential hazards associated with chemicals and substances that they may come in contact with in the workplace.

The course addresses the proper labeling of chemical containers, pictograms, classification of hazardous products and the sixteen sections of a safety data sheet.  It is important to note that additional worksite specific training may also be required to properly address the specific chemicals in use in that workplace.

A letter of completion will be awarded upon achieving a passing mark of 80%.
