Improved and updated, this course provides new project managers and project team members the essential tools they need to deliver successful projects. In our most popular course, a generic project is managed through the complete project lifecycle, from initiating, through project planning and execution, to project close-out.
As well as a great learning experience for an individual, it is also suited for "jump-starting" an entire project team about to embark on a project. Like our other courses, it can be "customized" to your organization's environment, by substituting the generic project with a case study from your environment, and using your templates and terminology.
Participants will gain practical knowledge and skills to be able to:
- Use the terminology and processes of modern project management
- Prepare a complete and accurate project plan
- Facilitate team discussions to learn from the project management experiences of others
- Practice project management skills using templates
- Value the benefits of a consistent project management methodology
Who Should Attend
The Project Management Essentials course is suitable for individuals who are:
- Responsible for managing smaller projects.
- Participants on a project team of any size, especially those who have not yet been exposed to the tools, techniques and terminology of formal project management.
There is no prerequisite for this course. It functions as a standalone course.
You Will Receive
- You will receive a course binder containing copies of presentation slides, exercises and suggested solutions, along with typical project planning templates.
- Pre- and post-testing can be provided upon request.
Day 1 - registration/check-in will start at 8:00 a.m. with sessions to begin at 8:30 a.m. and adjourn at 4:00 p.m. Days 2-3 will commence at 8:30 a.m. and adjourn at 4:00 p.m. There will be 15 minute mid-morning and afternoon breaks. A light lunch is included from 12 noon to 1:00 pm.
