Certificates and Concentrations
Certificates and Concentrations offered
Police Leadership Certificate (with concentrations in):
- International Policing and Security NEW!
- Law and Justice
- Service Delivery
- Supervisory Skills
- Local Government
Successful completion of any two courses within the first five concentration areas, plus the Police Leadership and Management Development course (PLMD), will qualify the student for a Police Leadership Certificate specializing in a concentration. Most students begin with the Police Leadership and Management Development course as this lays a good foundation for the rest of the program.
To successfully complete a Certificate in Police Leadership with a concentration in Local Government, students must finish at least one concentration certificate in Administration, International Policing, Law & Justice, Service Delivery or Supervisory Skills, then take the three courses specific to the Local Government concentration.
Students are encouraged to work towards as many concentration areas as they wish. Some complete further concentration areas after completion of the Advanced Police Leadership Certificate.
The Advanced Police Leadership Certificate is a course on its own with specific prerequisites. Students normally take this course approximately three years into the program.
I appreciate the manner in which I have been treated. From admission staff to program coordinator to instructor, every individual has treated me like a friend, not like a ‘file number’."
