On April 11, 2018, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and friends of the Department of Spanish & Latin American Studies came together to celebrate the graduating students of 2018. 

Numerous awards were presented:

The Alumni Citizenship Award was presented to Michael Williams in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Department and Student Body. 

The de Carteret Memorize Award was presented to Caroline Guinard in recognition of academic excellence. 

The Rev. Dr. J.B. Hibbitts Memorial Prize was presented to Caroline Guinard in recognition of academic excellence and highest first-class honours. 

Also recognized at the event were the volunteer Spanish tutors who helped students througout the year refine their oral and written Spanish skills.
