SOSA Chair Emma Whelan has written the inaugural post for the Canadian Society for the Sociology of Health’s new blog. The post speaks to her ongoing research on the history of handwashing and cleanliness campaigns and their selective assignment of responsibility for public health and infection prevention to women, particularly poor and/or racialized mothers.
