» Go to news main2025 Dalhousie Alumni Association Faculty Award of Excellence for Teaching Awarded to Dr. Liesl Gambold!
Dalhousie annually holds the Legacy Awards and this year, SOSA's own Dr. Liesl Gambold has been awarded the 2025 Dalhousie Alumni Association Faculty Award of Excellence for Teaching. She will be honoured at the Legacy Award Ceremony in November, and will also recieve a monetary award of $2,000 toward professional development of her teaching. Dalhousie President, Dr. Kim Brooks, wrote: "The committee was impressed by your commitment to student engagement, mentorship, and innovative teaching. Your creation of an inclusive learning environment and meaningful connections with students distinguished you as an outstanding educator. Strong recommendations further highlighted your impact." Dr. Emma Whelan, Chair of Sociology and Social Anthropology added that this award was very well-deserved. On behalf of the entire SOSA Department: Congratulations Dr. Gambold on winning this award!
