Dr. Elías Aarón Galindo-Paredes successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Social Anthropology earlier this month. His dissertation, entitled: The Making of a Ramsar Site: A Marxist Ecology Approach to Conservation, Corruption, and Leadership in a Colombian Amazonian Indigenous Resguardo, was supervised by Dr. Liz Fitting and committee members Dr. John Cameron, and Dr. Brian Noble, who were joined by the external examiner, Dr. Tracey Heatherington (UBC). Best wishes to the successful candidate on his future endeavors!
