Understanding the refugee experience

Two years after Canada responded to the Syrian refugee crisis, the CBC examined how refugees are doing in Nova Scotia. SOSA sociologist Dr. Howard Ramos was interviewed for the series. He talked about the past successes of previous refugee children and youth and noted that although refugees may struggle when they first come to Canada, in the long run they do quite well and make important contributions to the country.
