Experimental cinema challenges the ways we hear and see film – and the world. But what is the ecological cost of the romance of celluloid? This program of short films and panel discussion with artists Dawn George, Lukas Pearse, Rena Thomas, and Sol Nagler asks how experimental film can be made in more environmentally friendly ways. We’ll talk about recycling old footage and developing celluloid with coffee instead of harsh chemicals, and we’ll talk about creating the musical scores and sound designs that make these cinematic experiments glow.
