Annabelle Valliant-Fraser (they/she), from Peterborough, Ontario, graduated from Dalhousie in spring 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts Major Co-operative in Environment, Sustainability and Society and International Development Studies. They share some of their fond memories from their Dal experience, advice for new students, and details of what's next for them.

What’s next for you?
Working full time with the Ecology Action Centre as the Pop-Up Bike Hub Coordinator, bringing access to Active Transportation across Nova Scotia!
Please share a favorite experience or fond memory from your time as a student in Dal’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
Being in my first SOSA class with Dr. Hellend and watching as he used an unorthodox teaching method to iterate a very important point! Or when Matthew Schnurr taught me how to use an em dash correctly in his How (Not) To Feed The World course.
If you could give one piece of advice to an incoming first-year student, what would it be?
Dalhousie campus is a beautiful part of a beautiful city. Be sure to explore all Halifax has to offer—check out the Brewery Market downtown, beautiful Point Pleasant Park, or stick closer to campus and head to Noggins Market (on Coburg) to explore Nova Scotia through your tastebuds!
