The Shaar Shalom Lecture in Diversity and Difference is a public lecture series that explores the broad themes of tolerance, multiculturalism, diversity and difference in contemporary Canadian Society, demonstrating the shared interests of the Shaar Shalom Synagogue and Dalhousie University in advancing scholarly understanding and bringing these themes to wider civil society.

The synagogue and the university are pleased to welcome Mr. Lawrence Hill, author of the very popular novel, The Book of Negroes as the 2015 invited speaker.  A book signing by Lawrence Hill will follow the lecture with copies of his books available for sale courtesy of the Dalhousie Bookstore.
