Dr. Andy Hammermeister, OACC’s Director, just returned from a trip to Shanghai where he attended the first Organic Science Day in China. He represented the Technology Innovation Platform (the science coordination body) of IFOAM Organics International, the international umbrella organization of the organic movement. Andy also delivered a presentation to food safety students and faculty at Soochow University. China has three levels of certification: organic, green food, and hazard free, due to the high and extensive presence of heavy metals in soils.
