Dalhousie University and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU) have signed a Letter of Intent to explore expanding their existing 4+0 joint education program. This marks another important milestone in a partnership that has grown steadily over more than 20 years.
The agreement, signed during a virtual ceremony between senior leaders from both institutions, formalizes the intention to begin academic and operational discussions to add a Bioveterinary Science program to the joint college.
If approved by both universities and the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE), this addition would bring up to 120 new students into the program annually and generate significant new revenue for the Faculty of Agriculture.
Dalhousie and FAFU launched the 4+0 Joint College in September 2024, building on long-standing collaborative programs in Agriculture. The first year of the joint college has shown strong enrollment and academic outcomes, deepening engagement between the institutions and supporting Dalhousie’s internationalization strategy.
Further discussions on academic requirements, program structure, and formal agreements will continue in the months ahead.
