Dal AC International, along with staff and faculty, were able to provide physical and virtual student study abroad experiences, trips and international field courses to several locations such as the UK, Netherlands, Philippines, Dominica, Kenya, South Africa and several locations throughout the United States including New York, New Orleans, and Atlanta.
A total of 284 students received the opportunity to engage in immersive learning experiences in a variety of topics and industries internationally since 2019 including equine care and management, aquaculture practices and industry innovations, avian production systems, food security practices in the developing world, dairy and waste facility management, wildlife ecology and Indigenous run ecotourism and jungle crafting.
“With this wide array of international learning experiences, students understand a global perspective of a variety of industries,” said Grace Wenghofer, Global Education and Engagement Coordinator. “With this many students receiving a wider, international education, Dal AC International has had a strong hand in creating a cohort of students that will graduate with global ties, and bring innovative ways to diversify, revolutionize, and bring equity and diversity to their chosen industries in Canada.”
Funding for student mobility opportunities was made possible through Global Skills Opportunity (GSO) funding for student mobilities from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). Global Skills Opportunity was launched in 2019 with an aim to diversify the education sector, boost Canada’s innovation capacity, promote global ties and foster a vibrant Canadian economy.
