On July 21 and 22, 2021 “Global Reach 2021: Solving Agricultural Problems Through Research and Innovation” took place as a virtual symposium.

Dalhousie Faculty of Agriculture organized the event and welcomed 53 graduate research students to present their research from six international university partners from Canada, China, India and the Philippines, and guest speakers from three Indian Technical Institutes.

Through this symposium, graduate students from the participating universities were awarded the opportunity and platform to participate in thematic sessions including: Animal Science and Aquaculture, Agri-Business, Crop Science, Plant production, Engineering, Education and Environmental Science.

Graduate students will share how their completed and/or ongoing research can provide innovative solutions to agricultural challenges.

The symposium featured addresses from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie President, Dalhousie VP Government and Global Relations, and a Dalhousie Research Showcase featuring Dr. Sophia He and Dr Brandon Heung. Thanks to the Dal faculty and staff who joined the symposium to watch students presentations and ask questions.
