Invitation to Agriculture Campus Student Accessibility Focus Group

Posted by stephanie rogers on April 14, 2021 in News

Hello Agriculture Campus Students,

As you may be aware, Dalhousie is developing a multi-year accessibility plan in response to the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act which aims to create an Accessible Nova Scotia by the year 2030.

Our Dalhousie Plan will address six areas of focus, each represented by a Working Group. Each Working Group will contribute to the Dalhousie Plan intended to identify, remove and prevent accessibility barriers across the six focus areas.

More information is available on our Dal website. As we advance this important work, ensuring first voice perspectives from our students is a critically important part of developing our Plan. For this reason, we are hosting an online student focus group and invite you to participate.

The focus group will be an opportunity for us to hear from and connect with Dalhousie students who experience, have experienced, or know of accessibility barriers at Dalhousie. Specifically, the focus group will discuss accessibility experiences in relation to: Goods and Services provided by Dalhousie, Information and Communication at Dalhousie, transportation, and the built environment on Dalhousie’s Agriculture Campus.

The online session will take place the week of April 19- 23. To register Please send the following information to Siobhan.evans@dal.ca by April 14.

1.Name & Contact information (email).

2.Accessibility requests, such as CART captioning or ASL Interpretation. 3.Dates available to participate (choose all that you are available from):
