Invitation to Accessibility Plan Focus Group (Student session)

Posted by stephanie rogers on March 3, 2021 in News

As you may be aware, Dalhousie is developing a multi-year accessibility plan in response to the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act which aims to create an Accessible Nova Scotia by the year 2030.  Our Dalhousie Plan will address six areas of focus, each represented by a Working Group. Each Working Group will contribute to the Dalhousie Plan intended to identify, remove, and prevent accessibility barriers across the six focus areas. More information is available on our Dal website.

As we advance this important work, ensuring first voice perspectives from our students is a critically important part of developing our Plan.  For this reason, we are hosting an online student focus group and invite you to participate. The focus group will be an opportunity for us to hear from and connect with Dalhousie students who experience, have experienced, or know of accessibility barriers at Dalhousie. Specifically, the focus group will discuss accessibility experiences in relation to:

Goods and Services provided by Dalhousie, Information and Communication at Dalhousie, and The built environment on Dalhousie's Halifax and Agriculture Campuses.

The online session is scheduled for March 10, 2021 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
