Posted by Stephanie Rogers on June 6, 2019 in News

Have you heard? There is a fantastic opportunity taking place on our campus this summer from July 22- August 2nd

International and Extended Learning will be offering an International Summer Institute for 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate international students who wish to explore articulated programing through the Faculty of Agriculture.

It will showcase the diverse program areas of the Faculty and the culture, facilities, and services available through the campus and the local community.  Upon returning to their own campus’ students will be able to promote the programs and the Dal-AC experience to other students interested in taking one of the faculty’s articulated programs.

Students will participate in guest speaker forums and local farm/community tours, as well as meetings with individual faculty members to discuss the individual program options. Presentations, tours, and learning labs will be presented by Faculty from Animal Science and Aquaculture, Business and Social Science, Plant Food and Environmental Science as well as from the On-Campus Farm.  Other key features of the program will include an introduction to campus life, tours of the campus facilities, and a trip to the Halifax campus to explore the facilities and services available there.

Student target: A cohort of 21 students from FAFU, TNAU and UAF as well as partner institutions in the Netherlands, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Mexico.

Program Goal: To provide exposure to the range of programs, community life, and agricultural community associated with the Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be involved.  If you are interested contact Ashley.coffin@dal.ca in Extended Learning as soon as possible.
