The Department of Engineering is pleased to welcome Dr. Ahmad Al Mallahi to the department as their newest faculty member. Dr. Al-Mallahi began his term as Research Chair and Assistant Professor on Oct 24. Ahmad joins us after several years of industry experience with Amino Up Chemical of Japan and German corporation, Bosch. He is excited to begin his adventure in academia.
Ahmad received his BSc in Agricultural Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology (Power and Machinery) before moving on to Hokkaido University to complete his MSc in Crop Production Engineering and PhD in Bioproduction Engineering.
Ahmad will be working to build his research program in partnership with McCain Food of Florenceville, NB. Dr. Al-Mallahi will work with the potato industry providing leadership and support in the areas of sensors and automation for the advancement of smart agriculture technologies.
Ahmad will begin teaching Engineering and Applied Sciences courses beginning in the winter 2019 semester.
Dr. Al-Mallahi and his family has recently arrived in Nova Scotia from Japan and are all looking forward to our Maritime hospitality. Please join the Department of Engineering in welcoming Dr. Ahmad Al-Mallahi to Dalhousie University as our newest faculty member.
