Registration

Registration for the International Vaccinium Symposium can now occur.

• Registration is required to attend all the scientific sessions, lunches and coffee-breaks. 
• The conference will be held at two locations.  The meeting will commence at Dalhousie University (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and will conclude at the Prince Edward Island Convention Centre (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island). 
• All registration fees include lunch and coffee-breaks on symposium days. ISHS, non-ISHS and Student fees also include the welcome reception.
• Please note that participation to the preconference tour to the Annapolis Valley, Halifax Sunset Cruise on the Tall Ship Silva and banquet on the beach dinner require additional fees for all participants.
• The registration and abstract submission are 2 separate processes. The deadline to submit new abstracts is February 16, 2024. The deadline to make changes to existing abstracts is March 1, 2024, and the early registration deadline is April 19, 2024.
• Abstract submission can occur prior to registration and tentative notification regarding the acceptance of an oral or poster contribution will be provided. However, registration is required for the formal acceptance of an abstract, and to also attend and participate in the symposium.
• Registration fees include an electronic copy of the Acta Horticulturae symposium proceedings.

​​Registration fees​

Registration is required to attend all the scientific sessions, lunches and coffee breaks. Please note that only fully registered participants will be admitted to the scientific sessions. ​

To get the member rate, you must provide your active ISHS  membership number during the online registration process. Please see the information on ISHS membership by visiting ISHS membership and ISHS Young Minds Awards.

To receive the student registration rate, a certificate showing proof of current enrollment status may be required within 1 month of registration.

A personalized confirmation e-mail will be sent to each participant once payment of the registration fee has been received. Only registered participants will be admitted to the scientific sessions and events. Participants are kindly requested to wear the symposium name badge at all times during the conference, for identification and for security reasons. Congress badge will be required to access the lunch hall and coffee breaks.

Please note that the registration fees are in Canadian dollars ($1 CAD = $0.73 USD = €0.67 EUR as of April 27, 2023)

Cancellation policy​

Cancellations are only considered if the symposium secretariat is notified in writing. Please take in consideration the following rules:

• Refunds will be made after the XIII International Vaccinium Symposium
• Cancellation and refund will be subject to the following conditions;
• For cancellation received by April 19, 2024: Full registration fee will be refunded, but an administration fee of $80 CAD will be charged.
• For cancellation received between 20 April to 28 June 2024: 50% of full registration fees will be refunded.
• For cancellation received after June 28, 2024: No refund will be provided.
• As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person prior to 19 April 2024, without incurring a penalty. Transferring registration from 20 April to 28 June will have a $80 CAD administration fee. The secretariat must be advised of any alterations or transfers in writing. Transferring registration after 28 June 2024 will not be possible.
• If you do not attend the symposium without any notice of cancellation, no refund will be given. Also, no refunds will be possible in the event of missing part of the symposium, the banquet dinner, or the post-conference tour.

Currency used²: Canadian dollar (CAD)

1. Please note that the virtual symposium components will be dependent upon the number of delegates participating virtually.
2. As of April 27, 2023, $1 Canadian dollar = $0.73 United States dollars (USD) = 0.67 Euros. This corresponds with an early ISHS member registration fee of $750 CAD = $548 USD = 503 Euros.
3. No transportation provisions will be provided to attendees attending only one day of the Symposium.
