Sexually Transmitted Infections Research Network
The Sexually Transmitted Infections Research Network (STIRN) brings together individuals and organizations from public health, health research, healthcare and community-based organizationsto identify the pressing concerns for STI prevention and develop appropriate interventions that involve collaboration between groups and sectors. STIRN started through funding from the Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation.
STIRN was first convened at two-day conference held in December 2013, Innovation in STI Prevention, Treatment, and Care: A Nova Scotia Dialogue. Out of that conference, two reports were created:
- Inaugural Meeting Executive Summary / Sommaire de la réunion inaugurale (2014) [PDF - 863kB]
- Summary of the Inaugural STIRN Meeting [PDF - 551kB]
Stemming from the conference, NCCID sponsored two scoping reviews, the first of which is online: Addressing the Dimensions of Sexual Health: A Review of Evaluated Sexual Health Promotion Interventions [PDF].
