Paula Simon is a partner in Simon Chisholm Consulting. She previously worked as a senior official in the Federal and Provincial Departments of Justice in Halifax, Vancouver and Ottawa. She has served on the boards of Phoenix Youth Services, the IWK Hospital and Big Brothers Big Sisters. She has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Social Work from Dalhousie, as well as four negotiation and mediation certificates from the Harvard Negotiations Project.

In 2011, Ms. Simon authored the book “A Gift of Loss: A Journey From Grief To Gratitude”, telling the story of the death of her son Simon, the subsequent struggles and lessons of gratitude and resilience. She speaks and volunteers in the field of gratitude and loss with the goal of reassuring those suffering loss there can be a full and gratifying life after a significant tragedy. In 2014 she was awarded The Amazing Grace Award by Family SOS, for her outstanding leadership in the community.
