University Secretary and Director, University Secretariat
Susan Brousseau was appointed as University Secretary on January 1, 2007 and became Director of the University Secretariat on July 1, 2007. Prior to taking up this appointment, she served as Dalhousie's Associate Legal Counsel from 1988 to 1994, and as Sexual Harassment Officer and Advisor on Women's Issues from 1994 to 2006.
Susan is a graduate of Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts ('81) and a Bachelor of Law ('84). She was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1985.
The University Secretary and Director of the University Secretariat is the senior governance advisor for the University and is responsible to provide overall management of the University Secretariat to ensure the effective operation of the Board of Governors and the Senate. The University Secretary serves as Secretary to the Board of Governors and Secretary of Senate. Susan is an active member of the Canadian University Boards Association (CUBA) and recently stepped down from the Board of Directors, having served since 2010.
