Brenda Hogan is the Senior Investment Manager with the Ontario Capital Growth Corporation (OCGC) overseeing OCGC’s venture capital initiatives. OCGC, with $500M in assets under management, was created to promote and develop the venture capital sector in Ontario.
Brenda has held senior roles in corporate development, finance, and strategic investing with Bell Aliant, EY, the Business Development Bank of Canada, and a software start-up.
Brenda is Co-Chair of Canadian Women in Private Equity (CWPE); sits on the inaugural board of the Youth in Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) and Chairs the Finance and Audit Committee; and serves with the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) as a member of the Research and Benchmarking Committee. Previously, Brenda sat on the Board of Women in Capital Markets, serving as Chair of the Governance Committee; served as the President of the Junior League of Toronto and prior to that, was Treasurer of the Junior League of Halifax; sat on the Board of the Geneva Centre for Autism and Chaired the Human Resources and Nominating Committee; and is a founding member of the Royal Ontario Museum Young Patrons Circle (YPC).
Brenda graduated with an MBA in finance from Dalhousie University. She has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors SME Board Effectiveness Program and has received leadership training from the Ivey School of Business.
