Fire Inspections

The Nova Scotia Fire Safety Act states that a University shall establish and conduct a system of inspections to provide for fire safety, assess the adequacy of fire prevention measures and ensure compliance with the Fire Safety Act, Fire Safety Regulations and the Fire Code.

Therefore, Dalhousie University is responsible for conducting their own fire safety inspections. This is done through the Environmental Health and Safety Office using this developed Fire Inspection Form [PDF - 66KB].

If you observe a fire safety issue or have any fire safety concerns, please contact Stephen Ellis, the Fire and Life Safety Manager.
