Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on May 26, 2025 in Announcements

We would like to inform you that the National Security Guidelines for Research Partnerships (NSGRP) will apply to the following programs at the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) as of June and December 2025.  As a result, risk assessment forms are required to be submitted with grant applications when applying for these funding opportunities:

June 2025 Launch

Partnership Grants – Stage 2 (PG):

PG support formal partnerships between academic researchers, businesses, and other partners that will advance knowledge and understanding on critical issues of intellectual, social, economic, and cultural significance. These grants may also be used to establish partnered chairs and research centres.

Application deadline: October 29, 2025

Partnership Development Grants (PDG):

These grants provide support over 1-3 years to teams/partnerships, led by a project director to develop research and/or related activities in the social sciences and humanities or design and test new partnership approaches for research and/or related activities that can result in best practices or models.

Application deadline: November 15, 2025

December 2025 launch

Partnership Engage Grants (PEG):

PEGs provide short term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private, or not-for-profit sectors. The small-scale, stakeholder-driven partnerships supported through PEGs are meant to respond to immediate needs and time constraints facing organizations in non-academic sectors.

Application deadline: 4 times per year
