Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on November 18, 2024 in Research Funding

A new opportunity is available through the Joint Federal Research Funding Program for Military Personnel and Veterans.

This research funding program aims to enhance the well-being of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members, Veterans, and their families by supporting Canadian research focused on supporting these populations. This joint initiative is the result of a partnership between Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC), the Canadian Forces Health Services (CFHS) and the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR).

They are currently looking for researchers for a funding opportunity on “Application of PET Tau Brain Imaging and Blood-Based Molecular Biomarkers of Tauopathy in Canadian Armed Forces Members and Veterans with Occupational Exposure to Blast and Heavy Weapons”

Researchers are invited to apply for a new grant funding opportunity involving a prospective cohort study using positron emission tomography (PET) imaging to evaluate brain health and risk of tau-related neurodegeneration in military personnel and Veterans sustaining occupational exposure to blast overpressure.

The due date for applications is December 10, 2024 at 11:59 PM (PST).
