The 2023 International Joint Initiative for Research in Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation represents a collaboration among research funders from Brazil, Canada, Germany, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States to leverage international expertise to tackle the global challenges caused by climate change. Climate change has been recognized as the single most important threat to the future well-being and prosperity of our planet and all who inhabit it.
Applicants must apply as a transnational research project partnership. Each consortium partner may have additional eligibility rules for applicants and proposed projects. Use the links in Table 1 to review each funding organization’s eligibility rules, requirements, funding mandates, policies, eligible costs, and procedures.
Applicants and research administrators are invited to attend a webinar to learn more about the 2023 International Joint Initiative for Research in Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation competition and application process. Webinar dates: February 12, 2023, from 10a.m. to 12 p.m., and February 16, 2023, from 10.m. to 12p.m.
Webinars will be recorded and made available following the session.

Teams must submit a notice of intent to apply (NOI) by May 2, 2023. The research team must then submit a full application by September 12, 2023.
