MITACS: Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)

Mitacs and the AUF teamed up to encourage French research collaborations in the Americas region, more specifically between Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. This program supports research stays (from 12 to 24 weeks) carried out in a partner university in Canada. This opportunity is available to Master’s and PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers, full time and across all disciplines.

The award amount is $6,000.

The project must be conducted in French. Eligible institutions in Canada, Brazil, and Mexico must be members of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), and their membership fees must be in good standing.

  • Universidade Federal do Paraná
  • Universidade Federal do Pará

  • Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados
  • Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México
  • Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

The application package in French is shared by the local Mitacs representative and the signed application must be submitted to them. As far as project opportunities in Brazil and Mexico, the same criteria and process apply, but applications are accepted all year long.
