Grand Challenges Canada Funding Opportunity

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on April 12, 2021 in Research Funding

Grand Challenges Canada (GCC) has launched a funding opportunity for projects that address the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women, adolescents, children and LGBTQI+ people in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Grand Challenges Canada is especially interested in innovations that improve responses to sexual and gender-based violence. GCC expects to award 60-70 seed grants. Successful applicants will receive seed grants of up to $100,000 CAD for 12 months.

Canadian institutions are eligible to apply, however all innovations must be implemented in Sub-Saharan Africa.

By the end of the seed grant, eligible projects may be invited to apply for Transition to Scale funding.

Applicants must register for an account in the application portal by May 20, 2021.
