The United States Department of Defense is offering several funding opportunities that are open to Canadian researchers.
Autism Research Program
- Clinical Trial Award for research with the potential to have a major impact on the treatment and/or management of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Valued at up to $2.1M USD for four years. Pre-applications due May 3.
- Idea Development Award for innovative, high-impact ideas that advance the understanding of ASD. Valued at up to $550,000 USD for three years. Pre-applications due May 3.
- Clinical Translational Research Award for early-phase, proof-of-principle translational studies. Valued at up to $600,000 USD for three years. Pre-applications due May 3.
- Career Development Award for early career researchers or established researchers transitioning to a new field. Valued at up to $500,000 USD for three years. Pre-applications due May 3.
Tick-Borne Disease Research Program
- Career Development Award for early career researchers to work with a mentor. Valued at up to $300,000 USD for three years. Pre-proposals due May 26.
- Idea Development Award for research that could lead to improved outcomes for individuals with tick-borne illnesses. Valued at up to $600,000 USD for three years. Pre-proposals due May 26.
