Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on November 9, 2020 in Announcements

Dalhousie University is a leading institution in research and innovation, inspiring our diverse scholarly community to serve Nova Scotia, our region, our nation and our world; adding to the intellectual, social and economic capital of our communities.

Equity, diversity and inclusiveness (EDI) are firmly implanted within Dalhousie’s strategic priorities. Our research and innovation excellence cuts across all disciplines and is fully aligned with the university’s EDI goals. We would like to further enhance equity and inclusion in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and science-related fields in other disciplines.

It is within this context that we invite scholars in these related fields to present their research in our BELONG SPEAKER SERIES: BREAKING BARRIERS. The objective is to further expose Dalhousie to Diversity in Excellence and Excellence in Diversity in the STEM and STEM-Related fields and scholars to Dalhousie’s faculty, staff and students. It is our hope that we can build relationships through the speaker series that can have potentially long-lasting outcomes.

This Speaker Series is organized and led by the Office of the Vice-Provost for Equity & Inclusion and supported by the Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation, through funding provided to Dalhousie by the Canada Research Chairs Program.
