Ocean Frontier Institute Phase 2: Information Session

Posted by Jaq-Lin Larder on March 4, 2019 in Announcements

Dear Research Colleagues,

By now you should be aware that OFI has launched its second phase of large research projects, by extending a call for Expressions of Interest. OFI expects to fund two to five large projects — consortia representing academic, government, business, Indigenous and international researchers and coastal community members — with a total investment of about $16 million. As a result, each research project should receive an average of approximately $1 million per year for four years (all projects are expected to be completed in 2023).

To qualify, each research project must be led by a principal investigator who is a faculty or staff member, or adjunct faculty, at Dalhousie University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, or the University of Prince Edward Island.

Research proposals and funding decisions will be vetted through an external review process. The first deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest, is quickly approaching (April 11, 2019).

We’re sure you have many questions about the call, the application process and how funding decisions will be made. To assist with submissions, OFI is hosting an virtual information session. We hope you will attend:
