Australia Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships

Posted by Danielle Andres on September 24, 2018 in Research Funding

The Government of Australia has recently opened the competition for its Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships for 2019. This initiative offers support to international scholars to undertake study, research or professional development in Australia.

Two Endeavour programs will be of particular interest to faculty members:

  • The Endeavour Research Fellowships will fund graduate or post-doctoral research in an Australian institution. The fellowships are not limited to young scholars, and any candidate with a doctoral qualification may apply. Successful candidates will be funded for 4-6 months of research activity in Australia.
  • The Endeavour Executive Awards are intended to help build international professional links and collaborations with Australia. Successful candidates will be funded for 1-4 months of professional development in Australia. Please note that -       these awards do not fund direct academic research; they are intended to provide a mechanism for developing or learning new skills in a scholar’s field or area of expertise, rather than furthering existing research interests and outcomes.

For the 2019 competition, Canada has been identified as a Tier 1 priority country for international partnerships.

Additionally, note that these awards can be used to support Indigenous mobility – including Indigenous student mobility – between Canada and Australia.

Full information, guidelines and links to the online application form are available on the website.

Any faculty member intending to apply is asked to contact the International Research Manager in the Office of Research Services (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca).

Deadline: November 15, 2018
