Mitacs Globalink Research Awards (GRAs)

Mitacs Globalink Research Awards (GRAs) help faculty and students at Canadian universities deepen the research links between Canadian and international educational institutions. Dalhousie faculty in any discipline may submit applications in support of their senior undergraduate or graduate students. NEW: Postdoctoral fellows may apply if their date of graduation from a PhD program is no more than 5 years prior to the proposed start date of the research project.

Awards will be made to students in support of 12- to 24-week research project placements at universities in partner countries. Financial support can vary by destination country, but most awards are in the range of $6,000.

Canadian students and international students at Canadian universities may apply for research placements at universities in the following countries:

  • All EU member states (including the United Kingdom) - NEW in 2018
  • Australia - NEW in 2018
  • Norway - NEW in 2018 
  • United States - NEW in 2018
  • Switzerland - NEW in 2018
  • Brazil
  • China
  • Israel
  • India
  • Japan
  • Korea
  • Mexico
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Tunisia

Applications are accepted by Mitacs on an ongoing basis. However, the internal Dalhousie deadline for this round is 1 November 2018. Successfully-funded placements will be expected to commence in spring/summer 2019.
