The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) are seeking concept notes for action-oriented research aimed at informing the design of effective and innovative interventions that boost decent employment for Africa’s youth.  Nested within the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth, this call is part of a series planned for the next two years to help governments, civil society, and private sector actors design effective and innovative interventions that boost economic opportunities for youth in sub-Saharan Africa.

Applicant institutions outside sub-Saharan Africa must have a strong presence in sub-Saharan Africa or a partnership with a sub-Saharan-based institution. Successful applicants will receive grants of $500,000, for projects of 24 months’ duration.

Please visit IDRC’s website for more information and links to the guidelines and application form.

Any faculty member interested in this opportunity is asked to contact the International Research Manager in the Office of Research Services (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca) for more information and support in preparing an application.

Deadline: October 8, 2018
