Research Tools and Instruments (RTI) grants provide one-year awards to assist in buying or developing research equipment costing more than $7000.
IMPORTANT CHANGES
1. As of 2015, NSERC has transitioned the RTI program to the Research Portal and Canadian Common CV, replacing the NSERC On-line system as well as the Form 101 (Application for a Grant) and Form 100 (Personal Data Form).
2. As of 2018, NSERC has consolidated the evaluation criteria into 3 evaluation criteria as follows:
- Need, urgency and suitability of equipment for the research programs
- Merit of the research programs supported by the equipment and excellence of the applicant(s)
- Importance of the equipment for the training of highly qualified personnel (HQP)
