Posted by Danielle Andres on July 13, 2018 in Research Funding

Global Affairs Canada (GAC) has issued a call for preliminary proposals for a new initiative, “Improving Citizen Participation in Haiti’s Health Sector”. This initiative will be funded to a total of $20M over 5 years.

This call focuses on proposals for projects that will result in ‘increased enjoyment of Haitians’ rights to health, and particularly the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of women and adolescent girls.’

Applicants must be consortia of Canadian organizations. Consortia must present project proposals which:

  • have a duration of least three years and not more than five years;
  • present budgets ranging from $2 million to $7 million;
  • take place in Haiti. Proposed projects must clearly demonstrate a partnership with one or more local Haitian organizations

Full details and links to the application can be found here.

Note that individual organizations cannot be part of more than one consortium applying to this call for proposals. Any Dalhousie faculty member interested in this opportunity is therefore asked to contact the International Research Manager (jennifer.morawiecki@dal.ca) as soon as possible, and not later than Friday 20 July, to register interest and obtain more information and support in developing an application
